
KRAL Family
The KRAL Family is one of Turkey’s leading families focused on quality in the food industry. In 1967, in a 30 m2 area in the Altındağ district of Ankara, our founder, Mehmet KÖKSAL, began a profound journey by starting the production of yufka (thin dough) and kadayıf (shredded wheat). This beginning continued to evolve with products such as fried kadayif, produced in small home ovens under challenging conditions of the time.
Sait KÖKSAL, continuing the family tradition, began offering products such as şekerpare (a traditional Turkish desert), kemalpaşa (a dessert made from sugar and cheese), pişmaniye (Turkish cotton candy), and galeta (biscuits) both wholesale and retail, in addition to yufka and kadayıf manufacturing. During this time, he also ventured into retail by operating a grocery store.
Sait KÖKSAL’s entrepreneurial spirit led him to make a decision towards bigger goals by relocating to a 1700 m2 premises at the GİMAT Wholesale Market in 1987. During this period, the product range was expanded to include items such as şekerpare, güllaç (a traditional Turkish dessert), şambaba (a type of Turkish delight), erişte (Turkish noodles), and mantı (Turkish dumplings).
In 1994, as the third generation, Recep KÖKSAL joined the KRAL Family and made efforts to further expand the family business. With the contribution of generational dynamics, KRAL moved to its current factory located in Lalahan Neighborhood in 1999 due to the inadequacy of the existing production area at GİMAT. In the new facility covering an area of 15,000 m2, production continues to increase day by day with high capacity.
Today, the KRAL Family is known for its traditional and innovative products such as tortillas, kemalpaşa, şekerpare, güllaç, şambaba, erişte, cookies, baklava dough, mantı, triangular dough, börek dough, tarhana, and kadayıf. Emphasizing modern technology and quality and hygiene standards, KRAL continues to deliver the unique flavors of Turkish and world cuisine to consumers rapidly.
As part of its social responsibility project, the KRAL Family has enabled celiac patients to access this taste by producing Gluten-Free Güllaç.
Aiming for quality, KRAL is certified with Halal, TSE, ISO 9001:2000, ISO 22000, and FSSC 22000 certificates. The processes for obtaining international hygiene and food safety certificates for KRAL facilities and products are proactively monitored.
With the slogan “A Sweet Meeting,” KRAL has taken the unique traditional flavors of Turkish cuisine to different countries around the world, making significant contributions to the country’s economy. The KRAL Family, combining innovation and quality, aims to continue to be a pioneer in the food sector in the future.
